About Me

Shaking hands with former First Lady Gladys Masire

I Have Extensive Proven Results and Experience

For 19 years I ran my own business, The North Group, as a consultant.  I worked extremely hard, had many successes, and networked with some exceptional professionals (educators, lawyers, marketers, economists, historians, researchers…) from across Canada who were part of my team for years.  We did a variety of work including marketing, curriculum development, training, strategic planning, product development, event planning, business development, and program delivery including operating a regional tourism information service where we handled 60,000 inquiries annually.  My projects took me as far afield as Japan, Germany, Hawaii, Fiji, and throughout the United States and Canada.  My work also involved a lot of cross-cultural consultation and development in First Nation and Inuit communities and in negotiating with Japanese wholesalers.

I Only Take On Projects I Enjoy and Believe In

I retired from that life when I moved continents and hemispheres with my husband, and focus now on a select number of projects annually that are of particular interest to me.

Honourable Isak Katali, Minister of Mines and Energy, cutting the ribbon at the grand opening of the factory

For example, I launched ground-breaking events for the building of new factories in Botswana and Namibia.  I also completed the grand opening for one of these factories and am working on the grand opening for the second factory.  I wrote all of the speeches including for the President of Namibia and for the Tiffany & Co. VP; wrote the press releases; designed and prepared all graphics and had them printed; conceptualized a company book that included profiles of star employees and all senior management, wrote, designed and set up the book for printing;  and coordinated all other elements of the events.   These projects enticed me because the client has exceptional standards in all of their international business conduct, and I could fully embrace and promote their values in all written and promotional materials.  In Namibia, the company donated a significant amount to Family of Hope Services on my behalf in exchange for having me coordinate and launch the event.  Family of Hope Services is a welfare organization I support.

Check Out My Major Donor Project

I am a donor for an amazing organization that helps over 450 orphans and vulnerable children.  I donated their website which includes designing, writing and setting it up.  I also donate their brochures and other marketing tools.  Recently I wrote a fund-raising book for them called, Walk A Mile In My Shoes.  It is a collection of stories of people who live in poverty in Katutura, a huge suburb on the outskirts of Windhoek, the capital city of Namibia.  Please check out their website: www.familyofhopeservices.org
